Tustin Area Republican Women’s very own Kim DeBenedetto was selected as the Tustin Area Woman of the Year for 2021. For over 60 years, recipients of this award have been recognized for their dedicated work and outstanding volunteerism in the community.

Upon retirement from a 32-year teaching career, DeBenedetto jumped right into volunteering for the Tustin Area Council for Fine Arts, serving as president and vice-president of fund development and raising over $100,000.00 in sponsorships to fund Broadway in the Park and other programs.

In addition, she served as President of the Tustin Preservation Conservancy, authored an architectural walking tour of Old Town Tustin and is an active member of the committee for the Tustin Street Fair and Chili Cook-off. Among her other amazing contributions are revamping of the Tustin Area Historical Society’s HISTORY IN A BOX program for third graders and co-writing and narrating 10 YouTube videos about the Museum allowing digital access to Tustin History.

She is now a lifetime member of the Man and Woman of the year organization and will ride as a guest of honor in the Tustin Tiller Days Parade.
