No Child Left Behind

On January 8, 2002, President George W. Bush signed into law H.R. 1, the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001. H.R. 1 gives students a chance, parents a choice, and schools a charge to be the best in the world.

This comprehensive reform package will achieve the following:

1) Close the acheivement gap

2) Promote accountability

3) Expand school and parental choice

4) Promote charter schools

5) Improve literacy through reading programs

6) Improve teacher quality

7) Promote English fluency

8) Enhance education technology programs

9) Improve student safety

10) Improve Math and Science education
